Filipe Feiteiro, PA-C

Filipe Feiteiro was born in Portugal and his family immigrated to New Jersey in 1980. He grew up in South River, NJ, and attended Catholic grammar school, followed by public school at South River High School.

He graduated from Rutgers University with his Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology-Genetic Engineering. He then went on to pursue his Master’s in physician assistant studies from the UMDNJ-RWJ Physician Assistant Program. Filipe completed his degree with highest of honors in 2003. In the interest of advancing his knowledge and surgical skills, he began working as a General Surgery/Trauma PA for two years at Jersey City Medical Center. He then joined Robert Wood Johnson Medical School as faculty for the Department of Surgery - Division of Neurosurgery in 2005.

When he was offered the chance to join the full-time faculty of the Division of Neurosurgery, he was very enthusiastic about the opportunity to be able to provide patient care, along with the ability to teach. The ability to provide a meaningful contribution to the educational mission of the Medical School brought him great satisfaction. As a faculty member since 2005, he sought to contribute both clinical and medical education at every opportunity. His experiences at the Medical School have convinced him of the importance of being a well-rounded clinician.

Filipe has had great satisfaction in being involved in lecturing nurses, physician assistant students, medical students, and surgery residents. As a Physician Assistant and a teacher, he knows the importance of teaching in an academic and health care environment and is continuously on the lookout for a teaching moment. He also has experience at state and national physician assistant organizational levels.

He now continues his professional, personal growth and development at Premier Brain and Spine. He speaks fluent Portuguese. He enjoy sports and outdoor activities like boating and fishing when he’s not going the extra mile for his patients and their families.
